Sodium aluminum phosphate is used as an anti-caking agent, binding agent, and pH regulator. This compound has been shown to be safe for human consumption at levels up to 5000 mg per day for a period of one year. This product has also been shown to have no adverse effects on animal studies with rats when consumed at levels up to 100 mg per kg of body weight for a period of two years.
