Descrizione:

Sedaxane is a fungicide that inhibits protein synthesis and oxidative phosphorylation. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with tebuconazole, which is a chemical pesticide. Sedaxane is metabolized by the plant to produce caffeic acid, which may contribute to its toxicity. Sedaxane has also been shown to inhibit energy metabolism in mice, leading to decreased weight gain and increased glucose levels. The chronic effect of this drug on protein synthesis was studied using a yeast model system. The results showed that sedaxane inhibits oxidative phosphorylation by competitively inhibiting the cytochrome c oxidase activity of the respiratory chain complex IV.
Sedaxane has been found to be toxic for animals at high doses due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and oxidative phosphorylation, as well as its ability to induce physiological effects such as weight loss and hyperglycemia in mice.
