- Pyridine, 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-
2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoropyridine (2,3,5,6-TFP) is a tetrafluoropyridine molecule with a fluorine atom at the 2 position. It is an efficient method for preparing palladium complexes. This method has been used to prepare some of the most useful palladium complexes in organic synthesis. The piperazine ligand in these complexes is nucleophilic and can react with electrophiles. 2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoropyridine also absorbs ultraviolet radiation and can be used as a source of energy for photochemical reactions.
