2,3,6-Trichloropyridine is a synthetic compound that can be produced by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate. It is an inorganic acid with a pungent smell. 2,3,6-Trichloropyridine has been identified as a hazardous substance because it can cause environmental pollution. This chemical has been synthetically activated to form diazonium salt and hydrogen chloride. Activation of 2,3,6-trichloropyridine produces chlorine gas which is toxic to humans. In addition, this chemical has virulent properties and can cause severe irritation on contact with skin or eyes.
