Descrizione:
(S)-4,4,7a-Trimethyl-5,6,7,7a-tetrahydrobenzofuran-2(4H)-one is a natural product that has been studied as a model system for the biosynthesis of dihydroactinidiolide. It is also a substrate for carotenoid biosynthesis and has been shown to inhibit the activities of various enzymes involved in neuronal death. It is also genotoxic and has been shown to induce apoptosis in various cell lines such as neuro2a cells and carcinoma cell lines.
