4,4',4''-Trichlorotritylalcohol is a chemical compound that has been used as an analytical reagent for the determination of camp levels in humans. It is a white solid that can be dissolved in chloroform and acetone. 4,4',4''-Trichlorotritylalcohol binds to cell nuclei and adipose tissue, and it has been shown to increase camp levels in mice cells by inhibiting the activity of mitochondrial enzymes. This chemical also inhibits DNA replication and synthesis, which may affect spermatozoa production. The human serum concentration of 4,4',4''-trichlorotritylalcohol is low, so this compound is not likely to cause toxic effects in humans at doses below 20 mg/kg.
