This chemical is a methyl ester that contains three methyl groups. 3,4,5-Trimethylbenzoic acid can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of fatty acids and dimethoxybenzoic acid. The solubility of 3,4,5-Trimethylbenzoic acid depends on the solvent used to dissolve it. Solvents such as water or ethanol are poor solvents for this compound because they do not dissolve much of it. However, solvents such as acetone or chloroform dissolve this compound in high concentrations.
