Descrizione

2,4,6-Tris(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazine is a polychromatic photochemical reagent that has been used as a chemical ionization agent in mass spectrometry. 2,4,6-Tris(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazine is a reactive chemical and can act as an initiator for cationic polymerization of acrylates. It also has inhibitory properties against reactive compounds such as epoxides. The redox potentials of 2,4,6-Tris(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazine are not known but it is likely to be more oxidizing than the triazines bis(chloromethyl) ether and trichloroacetaldehyde.
