Descrizione

Testosterone is a steroid hormone that is responsible for the growth and development of male sex organs, secondary sexual characteristics, and maintaining muscle mass. It is also used as a therapy to treat males who have too little testosterone or have certain types of breast cancer. Testosterone is naturally produced in males by the Leydig cells of the testes and in females by the ovaries. The use of testosterone requires a prescription because it can cause side effects such as liver damage. Testosterone may be administered topically, orally, by injection, or transdermally.
