Triclabendazole-D3 is an anthelmintic drug that can be applied topically or orally. Triclabendazole-D3 is the D3 stereoisomer of triclabendazole, which has been shown to have a higher activity against intestinal worms than the racemic mixture. The chemical properties of triclabendazole-D3 are similar to those of other macrolides and fluoroquinolones. Triclabendazole-D3 has been validated for use in cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and horses. It is not approved for use in humans. Triclabendazole-D3 is extracted from the worm with methanol and then purified by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) with electrospray ionization (ESI).
