2-(2',3',5'-Triiodobenzoyl)ethyl methacrylate is a polymer that has been synthesised by the reaction of 2-bromo-1,3,5-triiodobenzene and ethyl methacrylate. This polymer is used in biomedical imaging techniques, such as X-ray absorption and microscopy. It has shown to be an effective embolization agent for cancer treatment. The copolymerisation of this compound with other materials can produce radiopaque polymers which are used in diagnostic radiography. The surface properties of this polymer have also been studied using gel permeation chromatography.
