1,3,5-Tris(2-hydroxyethyl)cyanuric acid is a diphenyl ether that is used as a high-resistance material. It is resistant to fatty acids and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. The compound has been shown to be an effective water and organic solvent for gravimetric analysis of mammalian tissue. 1,3,5-Tris(2-hydroxyethyl)cyanuric acid reacts with polyvinyl chloride to form polyvinyl cyanurate. This compound also has the ability to catalyze reactions in organic solvents.
