Informazioni sul prodotto
Theophylline is a bronchodilator that belongs to the group of methylxanthines. It has been shown to be metabolized by cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A). Theophylline-7-acetaldehyde is a metabolite of theophylline and it can be used as a probe for cytochrome P450 1A activity, which helps in understanding the metabolism process. Theophylline-7-acetaldehyde has also been shown to have nucleophilic character, which makes it an excellent substrate for dismutase activity. The conversion of 7-hydroxytheophylline into 7-acetaldehyde is mediated by sulfur, which may be due to its ability to form sulfoxide.
