It catalyzes the conversion of a substrate into product, which can be monitored with MRS. The toxicity of 3-(trimethylsilyl)propionic acid sodium salt has been studied in rats and mice. This compound has also been shown to be effective for the treatment of endometriotic lesions and infectious diseases. 3-(Trimethylsilyl)propionic acid sodium salt is a chemical diversity agent that has been found to have a high hydroxyl group content and can act as a metabolite for other compounds. Its molecular weight ranges from 208-210 daltons, making it an ideal candidate for use in NMR spectroscopy.
