Descrizione

Terconazole is an antifungal drug that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is a vital component of fungal cell membranes. The drug binds to p-hydroxybenzoic acid and then blocks the enzyme activity of 14-alpha-demethylase. Terconazole has been shown to be effective against Candida glabrata in vitro and in vivo. This drug also has physiological effects on the skin, such as toxic epidermal necrolysis and erythema multiforme, as well as drug interactions with other antimicrobial agents.
