Tetrabutyl OrthOsilicate is an inorganic compound that is soluble in water and has a high thermal stability. It can be used as a catalyst in wastewater treatment, as well as for sample preparation and hydroxyl group analysis. Tetrabutyl OrthOsilicate is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, but reacts with sodium carbonate to form the corresponding silica salt. The nitrogen atoms are responsible for its thermal expansion. The particle size of this compound ranges from 0.1-10 microns. Tetrabutyl OrthOsilicate also has a low reactivity with other compounds, making it chemically stable.
