Timegadine is a drug that belongs to the group of enzyme inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, and has shown efficacy in reducing the symptoms of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Timegadine inhibits the activity of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes, which are cells that are involved in the inflammatory response. This inhibition leads to a decrease in symptoms, including pain and diarrhea. Timegadine also has cancer-fighting properties, with preliminary studies indicating that it may have anti-tumor effects on colon cancer cells in vitro.
