5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(2,6-dichlorophenyl)porphyrin (TPPD) is a metalloporphyrin compound that is used as a probe for cytochrome P450. It is oxidized by cyclohexanol and dechlorinated by acetonitrile to form the radical chain. The TPPD radical chain reacts with naphthalene and pyrrole to form an adduct that has been shown to be biomimetic of the enzyme peroxide. 5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(2,6-dichlorophenyl)porphyrin can be used in kinetic studies of peroxide metabolism in the presence of chloride ions.
