5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin is a highly sensitive optical sensor that can be used to detect the presence of benzyl groups in wastewater. It has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial treatment for wastewater containing organic matter at subcritical and supercritical conditions. The kinetics of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin are dependent on the kinetic parameters of the reaction such as light emission and the activation energies. Activation energies have been determined from model studies and kinetic experiments. The product of these two values is proportional to the rate constant for this reaction.
