- 1-(Chloromethyl)-4-(Trifluoromethyl)Benzene
- 4-Chloromethyl benzotrifluoride
- 4-(Trifluoromethyl)-Benzyl Chloride
4-(Trifluoromethyl)benzyl chloride is a chemical compound that is used as a catalyst for the production of epoxides. It is a solid, colorless compound with an unpleasant odor. 4-(Trifluoromethyl)benzyl chloride can be used for the synthesis of propionate and other organic acids. This product inhibits cancer cells and induces apoptosis by protonating the catalytic site of pro-apoptotic protein. The inhibitory effect of this compound on cancer cells is due to its ability to inhibit the activity of Mcl-1 and BclXL proteins, which are pro-apoptotic proteins.
