Telocinobufagin is a natural compound that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to the cell nucleus. It also has a matrix effect on the mesenchymal cells in cancer tissues, which may be due to its ability to regulate the physiological effects of these cells. Telocinobufagin has been shown to inhibit apoptosis in HL-60 cells and other cell lines by inducing DNA fragmentation, chromatin condensation, and activation of caspase-3. This process is triggered by mitochondrial membrane potential disruption or induction of Bax protein expression.
