Triisopropylsilanethiol is a pharmaceutical preparation that contains a hydroxy group, benzoate and halides. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells and autoimmune diseases. Triisopropylsilanethiol is also used in the synthesis of epoxides and other organosilicon compounds. It has been isolated as a white powder with an yield of 80%. This compound is unsymmetrical, which means that it cannot be classified as one particular stereoisomer. Triisopropylsilanethiol also inhibits hematopoietic cells by binding to chloride ions.
