5-Trifluoromethyl-2-oxindole is a muscle relaxant that acts by blocking the action of acetylcholine on muscles. It is used to relieve spasms and cramps, as well as to produce muscle relaxation before surgery. 5-Trifluoromethyl-2-oxindole also has anti-anxiety effects and can be used as a sedative or anesthetic. This drug also causes less respiratory depression than other drugs in its class.
