Thiobenzyl N-Heptafluorobutyrylanthranilate is a diazonium salt that is used as a reagent in gravimetric analysis. It catalyzes the decomposition of hydrazine to ammonia and hydrogen gas. Thiobenzyl N-Heptafluorobutyrylanthranilate also has antibacterial activity. The enzyme catalysis by this agent leads to the production of free radicals that cause bacterial cell death. Studies have shown that thiobenzyl N-heptafluorobutyrylanthranilate may be effective against bacterial vaginosis, with a signal detection limit of 0.5 ng/mL and a detection time of 40 seconds. This drug also has an effective dose of 1 μg/mL and can be used in serine protease assays at 10 mg/mL.
