2,2,2-Trifluoro-1-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)ethanone is a chemical that can be used in pharmacological research. It has been shown to have acidic properties and is soluble in organic solvents. 2,2,2-Trifluoro-1-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)ethanone has also been shown to inhibit DNA synthesis by binding to the topoisomerase II enzyme. 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl ester of adriamycin has been synthesized and found to be more potent than adriamycin.
