2-[8-(Trifluoromethyl)Quinolin-4-yl]Amino Benzoic Acid (BQAA) is an antiplatelet drug that inhibits platelet aggregation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2. It has been shown to decrease the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease. In addition, 2-[8-(Trifluoromethyl)Quinolin-4-yl]Amino Benzoic Acid also inhibits the activity of human serum γ-glutamyltransferase, which is responsible for the synthesis of glutathione. This inhibition leads to a decrease in the plasma concentrations of glutathione. BQAA binds to human serum albumin and other plasma proteins, resulting in a decrease of its free concentration in plasma. The affinity constants for BQAA are at least 10 times higher than those for floctafenine,
