2,3,3,3-Tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethoxy)propionyl fluoride (TFFPF) is a fluorinating agent used in the industrial production of fluorinated esters. TFFPF is stable and can be stored for long periods of time without decomposition. It also has high yield and can be used to produce perfluoromethyl or fluoromethyl esters. The reaction between TFFPF and an alcohol yields a corresponding acid fluoride and an ether. The reaction between TFFPF and a vinyl ether yields an esterification product that contains a vinyl group.
