Voriconazole-d3 is a fluorescent derivative of voriconazole that can be used for the analysis of glycopeptide antibiotics. This drug binds to the active site of glycopeptide, thereby inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis and cell wall formation. Voriconazole-d3 has been shown to have a matrix effect in hplc-ms/ms methods. The pharmacokinetic study showed that voriconazole-d3 is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration in humans and exhibits a long half-life. It was also found to be safe with minimal side effects when administered orally or intravenously at high doses for prolonged periods in healthy volunteers and patients with cancer or other diseases.
