N-[4-[[(2,4-Diamino-6-pteridinyl)methyl]methylamino]benzoyl]-L-glutamic acid is a kinase inhibitor that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. It is an analog of neopterin, a protein found in urine that is associated with cancer. This compound inhibits kinases involved in the regulation of cell growth and division, making it an effective anticancer agent. The inhibition of these kinases leads to the suppression of tumor growth and the induction of apoptosis, which results in the death of cancer cells. N-[4-[[(2,4-Diamino-6-pteridinyl)methyl]methylamino]benzoyl]-L-glutamic acid has been tested on human cancer cell lines as well as Chinese hamster ovary cells and has shown potent anticancer activity.
