Informazioni sul prodotto
- 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, 2-ethylhexyl methyl ester
- Methyl 2-ethylhexyl phthalate
1-(2-Ethylhexyl) 2-methyl benzene-1,2-dicarboxylate is a metabolite of phthalic acid. It is a yellow liquid with an unpleasant odor and a boiling point of 316°C. 1-(2-Ethylhexyl) 2-methyl benzene-1,2-dicarboxylate is produced by the bacterial strain Bacillus subtilis during growth on organic substrates. It is metabolized by mono-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (MEHP), which has been shown to be toxic to various organisms such as fungi, bacteria and algae. The most common sources of exposure are through ingestion and inhalation. MEHP can be found in plastic food packaging and some cosmetics.
