It is a fluorescent compound that has been synthesised and studied to assess its optical properties, including fluorescence, quantum yield, and energy transfer. 3-Bromo-9-hexyl-9H-carbazole also has affinity for formyl groups as well as low energy excitons. The efficiency of 3-bromo 9 hexyl 9H carbazole in terms of luminescence was found to be higher than that of other compounds such as diethylene.
