1,2-Difluoro-4-methoxy-3-nitrobenzene is a drug that mimics the action of glutamate at metabotropic glutamate receptors. It has been shown to have antipsychotic and anti-depressant effects in animal models. This drug is an allosteric modulator of metabotropic glutamate receptors 2 (mGlu2) and 3 (mGlu3). 1,2-Difluoro-4-methoxy-3-nitrobenzene also has a neuroprotective effect in models of Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease.
