Diethylene glycol butyl methyl ether is an organic solvent that belongs to the group of alkyl ethers. It is a colorless liquid with a low molecular weight and high boiling point. It has been shown to be toxic in animal tests, causing damage to the liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Diethylene glycol butyl methyl ether is used as a polymerization initiator in the production of polyurethane plastics, as well as in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, and other industrial applications.
