2-(4-Isopropylbenzoyl)benzoic acid is a mononuclear compound, which is a white solid. It has been shown to exhibit coordination chemistry and luminescence properties. It has been used in the synthesis of coordination complexes, as well as in elemental analysis and diffraction. Thermal gravimetric analysis was performed on 2-(4-isopropylbenzoyl)benzoic acid and the results showed that the compound decomposes at 250°C. Single-crystal x-ray diffraction data for 2-(4-isopropylbenzoyl)benzoic acid were collected from a crystal grown from benzene solution and found to be consistent with data from other sources.
