Inulicin is a sesquiterpene lactone that is found in the seeds of carthamus tinctorius. It has been shown to have antiinflammatory effects on diabetic patients. Inulicin has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells, such as cervical cancer cells, and to promote wound healing by stimulating the production of growth factors. Inulicin also has potential applications in pharmaceutical preparations as a treatment for inflammatory diseases or cancers.
