Amiodarone is a drug that belongs to the group of annular compounds. It has been used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). Amiodarone has been shown to have a high affinity for specific genes, including those involved in the regulation of the heart. This drug is also used in animals, such as dogs and rats.
