9-(2-Bromoethyl)-9H-fluorene is a monomer that is used in the production of polyfluoroalkylenes. It has high activity and can be obtained from ethane, alkyl substituents, and mechanistic studies. 9-(2-Bromoethyl)-9H-fluorene has been shown to be a good monomer for the synthesis of dienes with ethylene or zirconium dichloride as an electron donor.
