7-Aminothieno[2,3-b]pyrazine is a molecule that belongs to the group of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analogs. It has been shown to activate GABA receptors, inhibiting neuronal activity in the ventral region and causing sedation. 7-Aminothieno[2,3-b]pyrazine has also been shown to inhibit microtubule formation and cause an increase in the rate of protein synthesis. This drug is currently being used as a clinical treatment for cardiac hypertrophy and cancer. 7-Aminothieno[2,3-b]pyrazine is not active against wild type mice or mapk activity with rostral molecules.
