LDN-192960 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase inhibitor that targets the catalytic domain of the enzyme. LDN-192960 inhibits cancer cell growth by inhibiting mitotic activity and histone phosphorylation. LDN-192960 also has been shown to inhibit the catalytic activity of serine/threonine-protein kinases, which are involved in many cellular processes including regulation of transcription, translation, apoptosis, and tumorigenesis. LDN-192960 binds to specific residues on the protein's surface and prevents phosphorylation of these residues, leading to inhibition of its catalytic activity. This drug has high inhibitory potency against mitotic serine/threonine-protein kinases and is currently being researched for its potential use in treating cancer.
