Mangochinine is a synthetic compound that contains an amide group. It has potent inhibitory activity against human pathogens, including Cryptococcus neoformans. Mangochinine is also a synthetic antioxidant that has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation in clinical studies. The chemical structure of mangochinine can be described as a piperazinyl-piperidine-2-carboxamide. This molecule inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi, such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, by interfering with collagen synthesis.
