Descrizione

N-Ethyl-1-phenylethanamine is a psychoactive stimulant drug that has been used as an appetite suppressant. It is a member of the amphetamine class and is closely related to amphetamine, methamphetamine, and phentermine. The compound can be found in dietary supplements, but it may not be legal for sale in some countries. N-Ethyl-1-phenylethanamine has been shown to be present in many different forms (isomers), which have different pharmacological properties. Structurally, it is similar to amphetamine and methamphetamine because it contains a phenethylamine backbone with an ethylamine side chain. The structural differences between these drugs are minor: amphetamine contains an alpha methyl group on the nitrogen atom of the amine side chain while methamphetamine does not; and methamphetamines contain an alpha methyl group on the beta carbon of the amine side chain while amphetamine does not.
