Informazioni sul prodotto
- 16,17-Dioctyloxyviolanthrone
Violanthrone-79 is a fluorescent aromatic hydrocarbon. It binds to DNA and other biological macromolecules, such as proteins, by hydrophobic interactions. The uptake of Violanthrone-79 in cells is dependent on the orientation of the aromatic ring, which is influenced by the particle size. Violanthrone-79 is used for the study of surface properties and binding constants of biomolecules. It can be used as an emulsifying agent or reaction medium in organic synthesis. Violanthrone-79 has been shown to emit light with a wavelength between 620 nm and 650 nm when it absorbs energy from visible light sources. This light emission property makes it useful for fluorescent microscopy applications and in the detection of radiation damage to DNA.
