Descrizione

Sulfosuccinimidyl oleate sodium is a fatty acid that has been clinically used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Sulfosuccinimidyl oleate sodium can be used to induce apoptosis by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase and thereby decreasing the level of circulating fatty acids, which are necessary for neuronal death. This drug also has neuroprotective properties and has been shown to protect against excitotoxicity in vivo models. Sulfosuccinimidyl oleate sodium binds to microglia cells and human osteoblasts, where it inhibits uptake of glutamate, leading to reduced excitotoxicity.
