NSC305787 is a novel molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. It prevents the formation of actin filaments, which are necessary for the movement and proliferation of cells. NSC305787 suppresses the production of translation factors, such as eukaryotic initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) and ribosomal protein S6 (S6RP), which are involved in the process of protein synthesis. The up-regulation of genes that promote cell cycle arrest and apoptosis has also been observed in response to NSC305787 treatment. This drug is also capable of inhibiting epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-β1).
