4-(Pyrimidin-2-yl)bromobenzene is a pyrimidine derivative that acts as a competitive antagonist at the endothelin receptor, which is involved in vasoconstriction and cell proliferation. It has been shown to be an antagonist of the endothelin receptor with antagonist activity and may be used for the treatment of hypertension. 4-(Pyrimidin-2-yl)bromobenzene also has been shown to have antibacterial properties against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
