Informazioni sul prodotto
Indeglitazar is a drug that belongs to the class of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) agonists. It is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and lower blood pressure in animals. The mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it has been shown to inhibit oxidative DNA damage. Indeglitazar also increases peroxisomal beta-oxidation, which may be due to its inhibition of protein synthesis. This drug also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to dinucleotide phosphate (DNP), an intermediate in the synthesis of nucleic acids from nucleotides. Indeglitazar binds to DNP with a high affinity, preventing the formation of ATP and thereby inhibiting cell growth.
