Informazioni sul prodotto
Acyclovir-d4 is a prodrug form of acyclovir that was developed to address problems associated with the instability and bioavailability of acyclovir. Acyclovir-d4 is a prechilled, stable formulation of acyclovir that is administered intravenously. The stability and bioavailability of this drug has been validated in a pharmacokinetic study, which showed that the plasma concentration reached steady state within 3 hours after administration. Acyclovir-d4 is an ion-exchange resin that binds to the drug during chromatographic purification, followed by elution with phosphate buffer solution. This process removes impurities such as orthophosphoric acid, which would cause instability in the drug.
Acyclovir-d4 was developed to address regulatory issues related to stability and bioavailability when used in blood samples. It has been shown to be effective against herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2 (HSV1
