4-(3-Bromo-phenyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is a protein inhibitor that belongs to the group of benzylamine derivatives. It is used in veterinary medicine as a treatment for viral hepatitis in animals. This drug has been shown to inhibit the synthase enzyme and diagnostic activity against human hepatitis. 4-(3-Bromo-phenyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro--thiazole--5--carboxylic acid ethyl ester also has the ability to inhibit aliphatic hydrocarbon metabolism in mammalian cells.
