5-Methyl-2-phenylindole is a dipole with an appendiculatus molecular shape. It has a constant density and a coleoptera and mellifera bioassay. This substance is found in volatile compounds, such as ethyl linolenate, which is used to deploy this compound experimentally. 5-Methyl-2-phenylindole also has been shown to be an attractant for the ticks Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Rhipicephalus appendiculatus. This chemical's deployment may reduce the number of tick bites by these species.
