Informazioni sul prodotto
Ethyl (2E)-penta-2,4-dienoate is a product that preferentially interacts with sulfones. This interaction is due to the nucleophilic nature of the sulfone group and the electrophilic nature of ethyl (2E)-penta-2,4-dienoate. The selectivity of this reaction was rationalized by examining the reaction at low concentrations and high temperatures. At low concentrations, diethylamine was found to be the only nucleophile with an acceptable selectivity for the desired product. At higher temperatures, allylic sulfones were found to be more reactive than ethyl (2E)-penta-2,4-dienoate, which resulted in a high selectivity for the desired product. Ethyl (2E)-penta-2,4-dienoate also reacts with amines in a similar fashion as it does with sulfones.
